Good Things Come in 2's !!

June 27, 2022

Hola a todos!! Feliz pday de nuevo!!
What a week here!! We had a super busy week and especially last couple days this weekend with the 2 baptisms of our amiguitos!!! Angel on Saturday and Juan on Sunday. Memorable events so I'll just get right into it!!
Los Bautismos!!
- Angel. My man Angel finally did it, he overcame his fear of the agua and got baptized this last Saturday!! There were definitely still some tears in the font but all smiles again shortly after!! Especially when we assured him baptism, when done correctly, is only something you do once. Haha but really it was an incredible event. He had lots of family and it was a special day. We've been working with them for a long time so it was fantastic to see it all come together. With the family members as well, there are múltiple who we've tried to work with in the past but have had some difficulties. Especially with a cousin of Angel, Paulina, it was a miracle she got permission from her dad to go to the baptism and then again got permission to go to church the next day!!! She had a great time and the Young Women were perfect and so we are super excited!! The whole ward has been really great with welcoming and loving this family, it was special to see it all come together on Saturday and Sunday.
- Juan. Fuau, this was a crazy one but super special and miracously all worked out in the end!! Things were all planned and going well until we were going to fill the font and they told us there wasn't much gas so the water would be cold. Then shortly after they told us that actually all the water in pueblo was shut off. From there we had to scramble but we were able to track down a key to another chapel and with some help from the other elders fill the font there. Still with cold water, and the change of location made it hard for neatly all the members to make it. But the last curveball was that Presidente and Hermana Hintze came and that made it even more special to be with them before they finish their mission this week. And being able to have dinner with them after was definitely something I'll always remember. Juan was a trooper with the agua fría and it was a great day to see him make covenants and entrar en la senda! Such a good chico and the Spirit in bautismos really is something different.
Amigos !!
- Sofia. As I have said the past few weeks she has been having some ups and down but this week was full of some bigbtime progress!! She has been reading consistently and going to lots of activities and building some big time spiritual momentum, doing lots of things to spiritual experiences.  I am so hopeful for her and really believe she can get where she wants to be in life through the power of the Book of Mormón, daily habits of the gospel, and of course abovedado all the Atoning power of Jesus Christ. We are really hoping this us her time!!
- Florencia. She is great and still really funny and honestly completely ready for baptism. But she had a couple things come up with her daughters health this week and as well said she has some doubts about making sure she will maintain in the church. So we had to pospone the bautismo for another week or so but she is great and theres a team of members ready to help so we are still really hopeful she can get baptized soon!!
Cumpleaños de E. Romero
Today is the 22nd birthday of my companion so we are continuing with the great things with the twos! Un asadito en la capilla con todo el distrito! Really fun way to spend the pday. And Elder Romero is a kind, humble, and hard working person - he is a huge blessing.
Pensamiento Espirtual
My quick spiritual thought is one way I've seen throughout my mission and recently realized especially as of late, of 'how the Lord works' in our lives - line by line and through our simple daily efforts to follow the Savior. 2 Nefi 28:30 is one of my favorite verses and sums up this principle perfectly. It says, "I will give unto the children of men line upon line, precept upon precept, here a little and there a little." The Lord works most often little by little, day by day. It is almost always a process that requires work and time to become more like the Savior, receive revelation, and continually be converted to the Lord. The progress really is in the constant process! The Lord loves effort and it is what brings lasting change.
Que rengan una buena semana!!! Chau chau !!
Amor,
Elder Jackson
