Feliz Día del Padre !!
June 20, 2022
Holaaaaa !!
First things first, feliz día del padre ayer to all of the Father's!! I have been extremely blessed by so many Father figures and examples of righteous Priesthood holders and men of God in my life, and none more than by my own dad. He is my best friend, biggest influence, and ultimate role model. I hope all the Father's had a great day and if you see my own father give him a big embrace for me!
Bueno, this week really was fantastic start to finish!! Vaamonos !
Templo !!
Wow sí what a start to the week we had! We were able to go to the temple this week and do baptisms with one of our wards!! Adrian and Marcelo were both planning on going but both had work things come up and sadly couldn't make it. But it was incredible to there nonetheless with another family who is returning to activity which was neat. And we already have another date to go back in a few weeks with Marcelo and Adrian. There is always a unique peace and spirit of the temple and doing baptisms brought back so many wonderful memories of being able to go to the temple often back home. It is such a blessing to have a temple close, please take advantage and go as much as you can!! There simply is so much power in the temple.
Conferencia de la misión
Another huge event!! Presidente y Hermana Hintze are finishing their mission in just a couple weeks here so we had a special conferencia with the whole mission and it was espectacular. Really fun to be able to see past compañeros and especially to hear about the people in my past area. But the highlight of it all was being able to hear President's insights and conclusions and testimony after his three years of dedicated service to the Lord. I will share more in my spiritual thought about what he said but I have been reflecting a lot since on how blessed I have been by both of my mission presidents. There's a different feel with each of them but both without a doubt inspired men, called of God to direct the work of the Lord in their respective areas and both have very taught me so much in very personally ways. Things they have focused on and shared have been exactly what I have needed and know will continue bless me not only now as a missionary but truly the rest of my life and eternally.
Amigos !!
- Juan. My little buddy!! He's the 11 year old son of Sebastian, a recent convert in Rio Ceballos. He wanted to be baptized a couple months with his dad but had to move to be with his mom. Well he's back with his dad and still really wants to be baptized! He's a really fun kid and we are excited for his baptism this next Sunday.
- Angel y Lucía. Keeping it rolling with los chicos, Angel is also a lot of fun and despite being a little nervous still about el agua, he should be all good for his baptism this Saturday! Lucía is a little genius and but sadly this week her mom said she doesn't want her to get baptized. We definitely still have some hope to be able to soften the heart of the mom but for now the best part is she is still going to be able to go to church and continue learning and growing. She will be the most rock solid 8 year old convert when we get permiso.
- Federico y Flia. Increíble. I believe I mentioned this family in the last letter but I'm not sure. They were driving past us last week and suddenly stopped and randomly asked where we were from. Well after one of the best contacts I've had with a complete family in their car on a dirt road in basically the middle of nowhere, we got set up a time to visit them! After some trouble finding their house the first attempt, we went back this last week and miracously not only found them but they invited us right in and seem golden. Our fingers are crossed things continue to go well but we are really excited for this familia.
- Franco. I believe I have mentioned Franco in the past as well but he is the nonmember dad of a chico who got the Priesthood a few weeks ago. Franco came to church support his son and has been coming every week since! It's really impressive because he has some physical disabilities from an accident in his youth but he still makes the 40 minute walk each way to church. We were able to have a really solid lesson with him and his son who got the Priesthood, Juan. It was awesome to se Juan teaching and testifying to his dad like that and we are hoping to set a baptismal date for him this next week!
- Sofia. We are still fighting the good fight with Sofia!! She's up and down with addictions and emotions but we are continuing on. I still have a good feeling about her... we are praying lots!
Pensamiento Espirtual
As I mentioned, for my spirtual thought I wanted to share a little of what President Hintze's concluding message. I know I won't be able to explain it all as powerfully as he did but hope it can still be of value. For me it was perosnally really special and edifying. He shared a couple verses that he said for him are the guides for the process of life. Éter 12:27 and DyC 4. He shared how we have to humbly seek the Lord and then through dedicated efforts in His service we develop Christ like attributes. It is through the daily process of thrusting in our sickles that we are changed through the grace of the Savior and truly become more like Him. The daily process of living the Gospel and serving others as the Savior did with all diligence and love brings conversión to the Lord. I love my Savior, I love my mission president, I love my mission and I know what he said is true.
I love you all as well and hope you all have a great week!!! Chau chau!!
Amor,
Elder Jackson
