Feliz Pascua !!

April 18, 2022

Hola hola!!
Feliz Pascua a todos ayer!!!! Happy Easter to all yesterday!! What a special day to remember and celebrate the infinite and intimate sacrifice of our Savior Jesus Christ. There is nothing more joyous than the reality of our personal Savior. I know He lives and I hope you all had a great day celebrating His resurrection yesterday and can continue to do so every day.
This week was a busy one but a fantastic one!! "Una semana joya" en the words of Elder Silva. The first three days we had to hop on a bus first thing in the morning and head to Córdoba for immigration stuff for me and Elder Silva. And we are actually up bright and early again to hit the city one last time to finish all of it up today.
Semana Santa
The first few days were busy with travels and the second half of the week almost every one here had work off for Easter which made the missionary work busy as well. It was fun to walk around and see parks and yards full of families and people out together enjoying the fall weather. We took advantage as well and invited just about every single person we saw to church. Easter itself was great, and highlighted with the baptism of our amigo Marcelo!!! It almost didn't happen, but it did and was beautiful. Really neat to see someone be reborn spiritually on the day we celebrate we will all live again. After we had lunch with our Obispo and his family which was a lot of fun and made for an all around fantastic day.
Amigos !!
- Marcelo. He really is awesome and had a great week getting him ready for his baptism. He has been wanting to be baptized since the first time we met him so it wasn't too hard haha. That first day was really neat, we were able to meet him and hear about how he had been reading the Book of Mormon that a member had given him years earlier. He also told us about his struggles of panic attacks and anxiety. We were able to give him a blessing and he said Elder Silva's hands felt like fire on his head and he's amazingly been able to control his panic every since. It was incredible to hear his testimony on Sunday after his baptism about that same fire he feltvin his heart and the change he's seen in his life. And the cherry on top was that his wife who hasn't been very open previously came and felt the spirit really strong as well!! It wasn't the smoothest baptism ever, with him showing up just in a nick of time to make it to sacrament meeting and then not fitting in the white clothes, but the spirit was yet again undeniably powerful and it all came together.
- Sofia. She is awesome as well! She has been reading the Book of Mormon consistently and loving rewatching Conference talks as well. She still is working with challenges of depression and some addiction but she has a special spirit and we are praying hard for her.
- Gaston. Big things for Gaston this last week! Biggest of all, he got engaged to the hermana in our ward so that was great news!! It was a cool miracle, we actually ran into him randomly like an hour before he was going to pick her up which was for sure a tender mercy. He had asked us to pray everything went well so it was fun to see him all nervous but excited and it all turned out good. They were at church as well on Sunday and it was a special sight to see them with their kids altogether too. We have another noche de hogar with them tonight and we are praying Gaston can receive his answer about baptism.
- Pedro. Our man Pedro is doing well!! We had some solid lessons with him and he passed his baptismal interview!! He was all ready to go for his baptism on Saturday but then he thought he was going to have to go to Córdoba Capital to work. Until he sent us a text on Friday afternoon saying turns out he didn't have have leave town. But instead of rushing the baptism we are going to have it this Saturday so it'll be a great week of preparing him some more.
- Veronica y Milagros. Two sisters of a family of less actives we found miracously the week previous! We were able to have a really great restoration lesson with them and they seem super solid. Three of their sisters got baptized about 5 years back but these two weren't as interested back then. But the time of the Lord is perfect and we're hoping now will be different!
Pensamiento Espirtual
With Easter yesterday I of course have been thinking a lot about the atoning sacrifice of our Savior Jesus Christ. He truly is the only way back to our Heavenly Father and makes all posible. The other day Elder Silva and I were walking down a pretty steep hill and there was a lady going the opposite direction and was clearly having a tougher time physically getting up the hill. Elder Silva turned to me and says that is the life without Cristo. It was so true and made me think a lot. Our Savior makes it all possible. He isn't waiting at the end of the path for us. He first showed us the way and now is with us every step, to carry our loads, encourage and comfort us, guide us, and give us the strength as we go. What an incredible miracle it is to have the Savior. And what a blessing to be able to celebrate Him yesterday but truly every week can be the same with the Sacrament, and every day through daily repentance.
Just a few verses about our Savior recently.
 DyC 19:15-19. Mosiah 14-15. Alma 7:11-13
Que tenga una buena semana!! Chau chau!!
Amor,
Elder Jackson
