Amigas Eternas

Hola hola!!

The weeks continue to fly by and we are about to wrap up another transfer here! This week was especially incredible and without a doubt some of the best days of my whole mission!!
There were a ton of highlights throughout the week but Saturday was the best of the best!! I seriously couldn't have asked for a better day. It started with being able to go to the TEMPLO!!! My recent convert Diana and some other members, including Hermana Gutierrez and Obispo Ramos, from my beloved 3er Barrio came up from El Paso to do baptisms so I was able to get permission to go! It was such a special experience. I have so much love for them so it was just incredible to be with them. But then to be able to be there and do baptisms with them was a dream. That was my first time being back in the temple since going through back at home over a year ago and man did I miss that special peace and spirit that is so palpable in the temple. It truly is la Casa del Señor!! I have such a strong testimony and a gratitude for the temple, especially after being able to go so often back home. The temple has been a source of power and light in my life. I can't even describe how happy I was to be back there and this time with some of the beloved people I've had the opportunity to meet.
But that was just the start to Saturday because that same afternoon we had Crystal and Milley's baptism as well!! We rushed home to get to the church and start filling the font and getting everything ready. The water might not have been warm but it got filled and really ended up being a beautiful baptism! It was especially neat because her younger brother who happens to be in our ward but has been a little less active lately was able to baptize her. And her husband who hasn't been too interested previously made just to the baptism and definitely felt the spirit of the event. We were able to teach him after with our Obispo and really testify of eternal families, it was powerful!! We are really hopeful for him. And as well Crystal's aunt Sandra who was maybe going to get baptized with the other two needed just a little bit more time but we're going to work with her for October 23rd!
We had some other insane miracles with the two other families we are working with!! First with la familia Medrano!! We were able to have several lessons in there home. Then as well their oldest boy who is 12 went to mutual, all 7 of them attended the baptism of Crystal and Milley, and then came to church as well!! Seriously some huge progress and special experiences for them. Their little 5 kids are super cute and being with them feels at home. Equally as prepared and exciting is la familia Saucedo!! There kids are all a little older so it is still tougher to meet with them all together but they as well watched part of the baptism over zoom and made it to church. They are so prepared too and we were able have our Obispo talk with them as well after and they are building some great relationships with the members!! Please please keep these families in your prayers!
The last highlight I have to mention was an exchange I went on with fellow Lone Peak Knight, Elder Ethan Smith! He is in his first transfer here but is already such a good missionary, I think there is no coincidence that he's from the best high school in the world. We really had a flat out fire day from start to finish. There is a member there who owns a physically therapy facility and he let's the missionaries work out there in the morning which was soooo nice. And then we went to lunch and an anonymous person bought our food. Anddd then we had the rest of the day full of lessons and we found a handful of new people. I'm already looking forward for going back down there next transfers. It was a heck of a time down in the middle of nowhere in little Socorro, New Mexico!!
I'll leave you with a quick spiritual thought, a little General Conference trailer!! D&C 1:38 says, "What I the Lord have spoken, I have spoken...whether by mine own voice or by the voice of my servants, it is the same." We truly hear the voice of the Lord speak directly and personally to us in General Conference and, needless to say, I cannot wait. I hope you all can ponder on some questions and are ready to receive revelation. Aprovechen esta gran oportunidad!!
I love you all so much!! Que tengan una buena semana!!
Amor,
Elder Jackson
