Felicidad a la frontera

 March 15, 2021

Holaaaa familia y amigos !!

Solid week here just north of the border! The beginning started out a little slower again for some reason, but we had some incredible lessons with our friends this weekend that made up for it!! Gotta love the grind!!

Like I said the first few days were a little slow, especially Tuesday I think every single lesson we had set fell haha but sometimes it's just like that. We kept working and had some solid lessons with this new lady we are teaching named Sosan who actually lives in Juarez at the moment but is trying to move over here. Hopefully she can because she has been really solid!

On Friday we had Zone Conference which was great!! Recieved some counsel from President Weathersby which seriously always is a treat. He really emphasized keeping the temple and our Savior as our focus in our lives and with the people we teach. I have such a testimony of the temple and know it's power is real. I miss being able to go, along with everyone else right now, but it has been powerful as well to keep that as a focus as that is the ultimate goal for the people we teach!!

Saturday we went to the foodbank in the morning and had some awesome lessons in the evening! First off we were able to finally have a lesson with Juana after a few weeks of her being busy! It was great and she promised us she would read in the Book of Mormon which without a doubt is the key to conversion. And then another great lesson with Daniel and we talked a ton about baptism and the blessings that come from it. He siad he needs to get support from his wife so we are definitely praying for that, but very excited for him! And lastly with two of my favorite people ever, Luis and Carmen!!! They are legit the best!!! We talked with them for almost an hour and a half and they are just so prepared to recieve the gospel. I am beyond grateful to have the opportunity to get know them and share these eternal truths that I know will bring eternal happiness. I have felt our Heavenly Father's love for these people, especially Luis and Carmen, I can't even describe how amazing it is!! It makes all the hard days and lessons that fall worth it to feel that love and joy from our Heavenly Father and Savior.

My spiritual thought is again from my personal study and goes along well with this joy. Mosíah 2:41 says "And moreover, I would desire that ye should consider on the blessed and happy state of those that keep the commandments of God...and if they hold out faithful to the end they are received into heaven, that thereby they may dwell with God in a state of never-ending happiness." I have been able to feel this happiness as I strive to keep the commandments and help our friends so as well. I know we are loved more than we can possibly imagine, and that our loving Heavenly Father will bless us with this happiness mentioned by King Benjamín as we let God prevail.

I love you all so much!!! Have a great week!!

Mucho amor,
Elder Jackson
