Staying in El Paso!!!

January 25, 2021

Holaaaaa!!!

It's been a whole 9 days since I've written and I know you all have been dying to hear from me!! Just kidding I know it's all about the pictures but I'll give some updates anways!

First off, we had transfers this last week and I'm staying in the El Paso Tercer Barrio and I could not be happier!! I was fasting and praying I would be able to stay becuase I love the people we are teaching and the ward and speaking Spanish. I am so grateful!!

We had another great week of work here! Even though we were locked up inside because of the inauguration, we managed to stay safe as there were no riots whatsoever, and stayed busy!

The Calderon family is doing well! The daughter is basically on date for February 6th haha she wants to have her brother to get baptized the same day which would be awesome!! But he might want a little more time. We have another lesson tonight so we will see! As well the parents are awesome but just working through some things.

Our ward mission leader referred two of his sister in laws to us and we had an awesome lesson with them last night!! They're names are Irma and Pati, both probably in their late 50s and really interested. We were able to teach the Restoration and it was such a powerful lesson. I don't even think they understood it all because it was a lot of new stuff but the spirit was so strong and I know they felt it. And Hermana Gutierrez, our ward mission leader's wife was there and it was super cool to have her share her testimony of the Restoration with her sisters. Really excited about them!

Facebook finding has actually been popping off this week!! I've been talking to people be from all over, it's a ton of fun. I probably had to check my clock app 10 times to see what time it was Central and South America. We had some lessons with people in Ecuador, Nicaragua, Colombia, Panamá, México, and I had a handful of conversations from people from the homeland of Argentina!! They said the Covid is pretty tranquilo there, and I even heard they are sending some misionaries back to Buenos Aires in a couple weeks!! Exciting stuff!

For my spiritual thought this week I've read some great chapters in Helaman this week, and I'll put some of my favorite verses at the end if anyone wants to read them. But I just want to bear testimony of the Book of Mormon. It truly is the key stone of our religion. Any question or concerns people might have I know can be resolved through a testimony of the Book of Mormon. It is such a powerful witness of the Savior and is physical evidence of the truthfulness of the Restoration, the preisthood and that this is Christ's church on the earth. I feel its special spirit every time I read it. And that is the promise, Moroni's promise, that all who read and pray can feel the truthfulness of it. My testimony and gratitude of the Book of Mormon has been reinforced as I've had the opportunity to testify of it this week, and just had to share it with those of you who still read these haha

Helaman 3:35
Helaman 10:4

Hasta que la obra esté terminada!! Love you all so much!!

Todo el amor,
Elder Jackson
