Muchos Milagros!!
January 11, 2021
Hola Hola de nuevo!!
The weeks are going by so fast I can't believe it's Monday again! The work really picked back up this week with the holidays over which was a huge blessing!! Even though we are back into "self isolation" for the next couple weeks until transfers, there were so many miracles and ways I saw God's hand in the work.
First off with the familia Calderon, they are the absolute best!!! We were able to have some really awesome lessons this week with them, and they even figured out how to meet over zoom which has been a huge struggle in the past. And they were able to come to church!! Seeing all of them walk into church was one of the happiest things ever. And after we were able to give the mom a blessing to help her out with some things and it was super cool. As well, the mom and daughter said they both want to be baptized! They both are praying for a date so hopefully we can get that nailed down this week! The dad and son are still taking their time with it but I know it's just a matter of time.
As well with our friend Juana, we finallyyy were able to have a member join us on the calls with her. Our ward mission leader's wife hopped on with us and she was perfect!! They hit it off right from the start and I know it's going to be a huge thing to help Juana progress.
Also this week we have been trying to hit Facebook finding pretty hard. I've added so many people named Maria or Juan or Jose who live in El Paso it's almost comical. But we've been trying some new things and have already seen some miracles!! I posted on this Jóvenes Cristianos page and got like 80 comments which I was pretty excited about. And then Elder Woods put up a post too on a different page and got over 1.1k comments!! Hahaha so it has been busy but super cool to talk to a ton of people from all over. Some of them seem pretty interested too so we'll see what happens!
Quick recap of some other things throughout the week. We still were able to go do service at the food bank, had a lady try and Bible bash a little and Elder Woods was a little heated but we got it cooled down, got a refferal from our ward mission leader who seems way cool and she came to church, and the Sisters in our district set up a photo shoot downtown with a member in their ward, I'll drop some of the pics below hope you enjoy haha
The last thing I'll leave you all with is I read one of my all time favorite chapters in the Book of Mormon this week. Or well I guess, set of chapters. I absolutely love the chapters about the Sons of Mosiah, especially as a missionary. But there were three things they said they did to have the Spirit with them that I know are applicable for everyone. Always having the Spirit is absolutely crucial as a missionary, but really it is for all of us! They talk about these things in Alma 17:2-3 "for they were men of a sound understanding and they had searched the scriptures diligently, that they might know the word of God. But this is not all; they had given themselves to much prayer, and fasting; therefore they had the spirit of prophecy." Scripture study, prayer, and fasting!! Three keys to be more intune with the Spirit!! This whole chapter, and again all of the stories about the Hijos de Mosíah are unreal!!
Thank you all for you prayers and support, I know they are bringing miracles!! I love you all!
Con mucho amor,
Elder Jackso
