Adiós 20, Hola 21!
January 4, 2021
Hola a todos!!
Feliz año nuevo!! I can't believe 2021 is here but what a year it's been, I think everyone is excited for a new start!! Hopefully some improvements in all aspects of life these next 365 days!
New Years here was a little different than our traditional Nance family party, but we got to watch The Best 2 Years so it was a good night! We were inside pretty much all day on the 31st and 1st just to be safe, and after hearing all the gunshots at midnight I understood why. It made the work a little slower but we definitely still had some miracles that I am so grateful for!!
We were able to have a couple really good lessons with la familia Calderón and each time we go over there my love for them grows. They are so fun and have so much love for one another it is amazing to see. However, our new time of 9am church was just a little too early for them this week, but I guess it was too early for nearly our whole ward because we only had about 30 people there. But we are praying next week will be better!! It would mean the world if you could add this family to your prayers!!
We also had a really good lesson with Juana this week! It was a pretty cool tender mercy, her niece and nieces husand got there right as we did so we got to talk to them for a little too, super cool people! As well we met a really nice lady named Elizabeth so we are praying things will work out there as well!
I've spent a lot of time thinking about this past year. I really have learned so many things, many that I wouldn't have learned without the crazy circumstances a global pandemic. There was a quote I heard that has stuck with me, I think it is from president of BYU President Worthy. He said "If we come out of this pandemic unsacthed but unchanged, we greatly miss out of the benefits of this unique time." I loved this because it really helped me understand there are numerous blessings from covid as well and we are missing out if we don't take advantage!! I know that in difficult times is truly we can learn, grow and change for the better. And this is change is possible through our Savior and His Atonement! His loving sacrafice helps us in every aspect of our lives. One more quote for you all is from President Nelson. "When Jesus asks you and me to 'repent,' He is inviting us to change our mind, our knowledge, our spirit—even the way we breathe. He is asking us to change the way we love, think, serve, spend our time." So be the change you hope to see in the world as you focus on the Savior and use His Atoning sacrafice!!
Love you all so much!! Until next week!
