Feliz Navidad!!
December 21, 2020
Hola, hola!!
Alright I think I've talked about Christmas in every single letter since it snowed randomly back in Las Cruces almost 2 months ago, but this is finally the week!! It's obvious enough but I'm so pumped for Christmas!!!!
One of the highlights from this last week without a doubt was going caroling on Saturday night. It was an absolute blast being out with the whole district and the spirit was honestly so strong singing those hymns! As well, we had a huge miracle when we went over to a family's house who had been taught a few months ago but they haven't been responding lately. We went and sang and they loveddd it (not because we were good singers of course they're just that nice) and we were able to go back last night and have a lesson with them!! It was in person which was incredible and the spirit was seriously so strong. They even invited us to come back on Christmas Eve to teach them again!! Please pray for la familia Calderón!!!
In other Christmas things, we've gotten tamales and a mexican hot chocolate kind of drink a couple times now from a member and an investigator which is so much fun to get a taste, literally, of the Mexican traditions!! I love the people here so much
The first part of the week was a little tough with the work as we had nearly everyone lesson fall through the first few days but it was so neat to see how there was always another miracle, someone else who needed to be called or reached out to. It maybe took a few hours of work to see a little miracle, and often times it can take much longer than that to see why things don't always work out to how we excpet or want, but I know it is always according to God's perfect plan. It had me thinking a lot about a scripture I love! Mosiah 4:9 says "Believe in God; believe that he is, and that he created all things, both in heaven and in earth; believe that he has all wisdom, and all power, both in heaven and in earth; believe that man doth not comprehend all the things which the Lord can comprehend." We just have to have faith, this "clear-headed trust" as Elder Utchdorf put it in his last Conference talk, that God is all knowing, all loving and all things are done in His wisdom for our eventual benefit.
My last little spiritual thought is one final Christmas message! John 3:16 is super famous, rightfully so, and says "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." I pray we can all reflect this week on the greatest gift ever given. The infinite gift, given out of perfect love, our Savior Jesus Christ.
I love you all so much!! Merry Christmas and Feliz Navidad!!!
