Bueno Dias

October 26, 2020

Buenos días Mamá y Papá!!!! This week was really good!!! It was do much fun to talk to you guys on Thursday, it really is the best and makes me feel so connected. I loved hearing Matt's French. And also I love Dad's advice to him and me to have a positive attitude. I rewrote my little statement Attitude Determines Altitude, but in spanish of course, and put it on my wall. I thought I was going to be here in Las Colinas for a long time honestly. But now it'll just make the trip down with me! I also wrote a couple scriptures and hung them on my wall as well, one that reminds me of each of you. For Dad I put Helaman 10:4, about preaching the gospel with unwearingness, or in spanish Infatigablemente. I know that's how you served Dad and really is how I want to as well. For Mom I read a verse the other day and loved it. It's talking about the 2000 stripling warriors, but its a little different then the one we normallt hear like we doubt our mothers knew it. Similar, but i like this one more actually. It's Alma 57:21 "Yea, and they did obey and observe to perform every word of command with exactness; yea, and even according to their faith it was done unto them; and I did remember the words which they said unto me that their mothers had taught them." This describes how I want to be known as well, exactly obedient and faithful in all things, and I know this is what you have taught me and raised me to do. Open my wings. Also I was thinking about Ether 12:41 for Mom, "seek ye this Jesus" but I didnt have room on the paper.

Transfers tho!! Wow i was shocked. I didnt think i was going anywhere. Especially, Elder Campbell got a call on Friday saying he would be training again but not me. So we thought he was gone for sure and it was just going to be me and Elder Gale here. I was excited about it because the area is awesome, the ward is seriously the best, and there are a lot of new people we found this week I'm super excited about. I kinda thought I was going to be the next Elder Noyes, or at least be here for a few more transfers. I was shocked when they said I was going to El Paso. It was sad to go to church and see all my new friends and know I'm going into a brand new ward after I had just gotten comfortable and familiar with everyone there. But luckily we wrote and handed out thank you cards to the people that fed us and they really liked that. I will write the ones to ppl back home today!! At the same time tho, I am sooooo excited for El Paso and to speak spanish. I have missed it and my heart literally gets so happy when I have the chance to speak or even just study it here. And Ive heard all good things about my new comp, he used to be a district leader. I think hes from Ogden. I just hope he wants to work!! Sounds like we are opening an area so it might be way hard at first but I'm super excited for the opportunities.

Also, in other news, on Friday we had district council and the ZLs came and I love them. And I talked their greenie who is an awesome dude, good buddy of mine. He went to Copper Hills. His name is Elder Taylor. But I was talking to him and Elder Noyes and I finally could tell them about the craziness of Monday. They were super nice, super grateful, said they think I'm awesome and loved exchamges, know I work hard and stuff. Which was awesome. But then that night tho President called us during dinner and he was nottttt happy. The ZL told him what happened which was good. He was super mad though, mostly at Elder Campbell and Elder Gale, he didn't really say anything to me, but it was terrifying. An awful feeling just to be a part of it. They are getting their driving privileges taking away for a while. He was going to have me drive until the end of the transfer but I don't have a Tiwi card thing that gives me access to drive church cars. He called again on Saturday and was actually really nice but it wasn't a good experience still. He was nice to me but said I need to be more bold about stopping it next time. So that was a fun thing this week. There are actually a couple other really awesome stories ill have to tell you over the phone today and ill put in my weekly but just wanted to get that one story out of the way.

Other things I have been studying and thinking about tho.

Helaman 13:5 spoke the things that the Lord put in his heart.
Samuel the Lamanite, such an importsnt story since Christ sakd specifically to have it recorded, said the things the Lord put into his heart. Again, what I want to do through the spirit. Such an awesome story. Protected by the Spirit. Knew what to say by spirit. Had faith to go and say it even though they tried to kill him for it. And the prophecies of Christ's birth are so cool. So specific and close to the time. But seeing miracles doesn't bring conversion.

3 Nephi 5:13 Behold I am a disciple of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. I have been called of him to declare his word among his people that they might have ever lasting life.
Absoutely perfect for missionaries. I love Mormon and his dedication to the Lord. So much respect and love for him.

President Ballard and Elder Holland in the Missionary Devotional this week. They just answered a bunch of questions from missionarys and it was super good.
I loved what President Ballard said about when we are truly converted to Jesus Christ, when we get that in our heart, that is when our desire grows to share the gospel, that is when we aren't afraid of talking to anyone, and when we want to work our absolute hardest in every moment of every day. He also said you will preach more boldly to people.
I really liked this because I know this is so true. I have seen it in already in the first 6 weeks. Focusing on Jesus Christ, working hard, being obedient, sharing the gospel is what makes me so happy. Also, I strive to be more converted to our Savior everyday. Alma 23:6 says those who were converted never did fall away. Also in our mission moto we say "we are becoming converted to Jesus Christ." Conversion is the goal for myself and those i teach. I also feel strongly of the importance of talking to everyone!! It is actually so fun.
Elder Holland talked for a little about the power of the Book of Mormon. It is the best tool we have in missionary work. It will change peoples lives if they read it. I know this is true too. He talked about all the incredible resources we have as missionarys now with technology and I know thats really important too but I love how he said the best tool is the Book of Mormon. He said a lot more but I don't think I can say it as well so that'll have to suffice.
