Última Semana
Buenaaaaas !! Cómo andan?! The time continues to fly and I can't fully comprehend this is my last full week as a missionary. But this past week was increíble. We had multiple huge blessings and we were able to finish it off with the baptism of Jose! Vamos y gloria a Dios !
Amigos !! Un montón milagros !!
- Jose. Some of the best experiences of the mission with him this last week. His baptism was such a good day but it really almost didn't happen. All was going smooth for the past few weeks and we were feeling great! But when we went over on Thursday for the baptismal interview, he told us about a number of really tough things that had come up and he said he wasn't going to get baptized. It was an absolute miracle that he ended up being humble enough to listen to the spirit that was there as we explained that baptism and receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost is the best thing he could possibly do to have the help, the support, and the strength he needs. From there the rest went well and he even walked to the baptism when his car wouldn't start. The icing on the cake was being able to see Elder Romero baptize him. Truly such a special experience. And now the hope for this next week is to do baptisms in the temple on Saturday!
- Nelson. Came to church again with his kiddos and we had a joya (jewel) de una leccion with him and the all time great Hermano Javier Alasia. Una máquina ese Hermano en serio. It was just the second time we were able to sit down and teach Nelson even though he's been to church a handful of times now. But the lesson was great, Hno Alasia really was on another level of power, and at the end Nelson told us he wants to be baptized!! He has to get married first but he is going to start working towards that now so we are grateful and excited for him.
- Verónica. Fuau, Veronica is the definition of elect!! Increíble en verdad. When we went back for our second lesson she had read 3Nefi11 that we left for her and she loved it. She said she had the "tickles in her soul". The last lesson we were able to have the Hermana Inostroza with us and she was so powerful!! She wants to go to church before we set a baptismal date and had a commitment this last Sunday so she wasn't able to make it this week but surely it is just a matter of time with her. I hope to watching her baptism on a zoom link in a few weeks!!
- Paulina. Big week for Paulina as well!! She turned 18 and the young women went above and beyond and threw her a cumpleaños. It was a huge success and her dad who was previously completely against the church called the bishop and thanked him and told him he wants to go to church!! We are praying he comes the next week and then will give his blessing for the baptism of Paulina and her little sister Serena. They are both so awesome and came to church by themselves again this week.
- Maria Ana. She is an older lady that is friends with a member and we actually had a couple lessons with when I first got to Unquillo but really wasn't open. But our member has been working on her more and invited her to the baptism. Well we came and loved it!! The next day she came to church and again felt the Spirit really strong. After church our member invited us to have lunch with them and Maria Ana, it was blessing after blessing and we are super excited for the future for her!
Otras Buenas Cosas !
- Templo!! All the missionaries heading home were able to go the temple. Such a special experience and the House of the Lord really is a House of revelation.
- Noche de Hogar with the Familia de Sousa! A lot of fun to be with and strengthen their family.
- Comida. Lots of good food this week from members and especially the best of the best Elder Romero. He even blessed us last night with empanadas de pollo. I in no way deserve Elder Romero.
Pensamiento Espiritual
After being able to testify of the blessings that come from the gift of the Holy Ghost to Jose and then being able to feel the power of the ordinance as he was able to receive it, the Spirit has been on my mind a ton. I have felt the importance of obtaining and recognizing the spirit since day one of my mission when I arrived in Las Cruces New Mexico and every day since. The spirit really is the key, in the mission and in life! He is the ultimate teacher that testifies of truth and enlightens our understanding. He comforts and fills us with love in trials. He guides us with revelation as we humbly seek the Lord´s will. He sanctifies and cleanses us from sin. He warns us when we are in danger, physical or spiritual. The blessings are infinite! It is a daily search to have and recognize His influence in our lives and should be a focus in all we do. El Espiritu = Exito !!
Mosiah 3:19. Alma 26:11.
I love you all so much! Have a great week!! Just one more letter in the next Monday. Chau chau!!
Amor,
Elder Jackson
