Chocolate Milk Mile
August 16, 2021
Hola otra vez!!
This week was packed and went by so fast yet again. It is crazy to see how fast time is going by as a missionary as I've been in Albuquerque for almost 3 months now
It was the last full week of the transfer and we had 2 more exchanges to do before it all wrapped up so it was busy time but they were really great days!! For the first exchange I stayed in our area and got to be with an elder who goes this week so it was great to learn from him. We were able to have a day full of lessons and found a few new people as well! The coolest part was even when a couple of the lessons we had set fell through, we stopped by some people we've been trying to get back into contact who lived nearby and they were so there so were able to teach them! We definitely saw the Lord's hand in the work all day. The next day we had another exchange and I was able to go down to this little area in the middle of nowhere basically, to Belén New Mexico, and spend the day with my former companion Elder Saballos!! It was a another day full of miracles as we found 8 new people in his area and had a number of lessons, one in particular with a young couple who seemed really ready to hear the gospel! Really great times!!
Another one of the highlights of the week without a doubt was this super cool experience with a less active guy who lives in our apartment complex! His name is Edward and moved in about a week ago, and we just happened to meet him the day after in the parking lot. He said he hadn't been to church in about 5 years so we got him the address ofn
the building. He again came to mind late on Saturday night sent him a text to remind him about church and cool enough he actually went and had a great experience!! He even told us after his goal is to go to the temple!! Really neat to see how the Lord put us in the perfect spot at the perfect time to meet him.
Liz and Nathaly, our friends on date for the 4th of September, are doing well!! This week was a little bit crazy for them though. Their little son/brother was sick all week so it was a little harder to have some solid lessons but we were able to have some phone calls and their faith is still so strong. Please keep them in your prayers!!
As far as other things we had a 'Chocolate mile mile' as zone this morning. A cup of chocolate milk for every lap around the church parking lot! A ton of fun but definitely haven't been that close to throwing up in a while haha. I love all the missionaries in this zone and am so happy I'll be staying here for at least another transfer!!
A quick spirtual thought for you all is Alma 13:13 " And now, my brethren, I would that ye should humble yourselves before God, and bring forth fruit meet for repentance, that ye may also enter into that rest." Humilty really is repentance and daily repentance is the key to happiness!!
I think that'll do it for this week!! Best of luck to all those starting school this week back in Utah!! I continue to learn so much every day it is such a blessing to be a missionary. It is truly a sacred time. Love you all!!
Amor,
Elder Jackson
