Semana de Ajustes

April 19, 2021

Hola a todos!! We had a lot of changes and adjustments this week but it has been a really good one nevertheless!

We added a third comp so we are now rocking a trio in the 3rd Ward! Our new companion's name is Elder Saballos, he's from Arizona, and he's only been out a couple months but he's a native Spanish speaker so that has been super nice. It's a little different being in a trio but it has its advantages as well. We are still rolling for sure! We also added another companionship to our ward and they are taking a lot of my area and maybe some of the people I've been teaching which would be super sad, but I'm doing everything in my power to make sure I can keep them!! I love the people here with all my heart!

Speaking of mis amigos, we had a great week with them!! We started off with another incredible lesson with Paty y Diana! They both have been reading the Book of Mormon, and Paty is in 2 Nefi which is so exciting!! We taught them some commandments and they accepted it all really well and then at the end to top it off they got us Whataburger. Seriously the best people!! Sadly though, Hermana Gutierrez's other sister, Irma, who we've been teaching for a while now, moved this last week to the other side of town and out of our area. But we were able to have one last really solid lesson! And the elders over there are awesome and went and helped out with the move and everything so hopefully she can continue to progress!

On Friday we had one of the funnest times on my mission. Luis plays the guitar at a few different restaurants around El Paso, normally all way out of our area. But he played at one that was just a few minutes away, so we got permission to go and it was a blast!! He was completely shocked to see us walk in!! He talked to some people and got us a table right next to where he was playing. I don't think I stopped smiling the whole time as he took song requests from a couple in our ward who came with us (us güeros don't know many Mexican artists lol). It was so much fun and so good to see him and his wife, especially since they have been so busy lately. They are some of my favorite people ever.

Continuing on with more incredible friends, Alex is a total stud and we're so excited for his baptism this Friday!! We have been getting it all planned and I know he's ready but I am just praying it all goes smooth!

Andd lastly, we started teaching this new lady named Marybel. She has one of the roughest situations I've ever seen, but still has so much faith!! It has been an inspiration to just hear her story and get to know her. She is another diamond in the rough and I'm super excited to see her progress!

In other fun things it was Elder Neilson's birthday this week! We went back to his favorite BBQ place and did some fun service in the morning with Elder Hannemann and his comp. I think that about does it for this week tho!

Please keep Alex in your prayers for this Friday!! Love you all so much!!

Con todo el amor,
Elder Jackson
