New Comp!!

 March 8, 202

Hola a todos!!

First week of the transfer here had some changes and adjustments but we had another awesome week! My love for El Paso and the people here just continues to grow!!!

On Wednesday I said bye to Elder Woods and got my new comp Elder Neilson. He's such a kind, good hearted, and funny kid. I legit love him!! The one thing is though he's only been in an english area before so, bless his heart, his spanish is still pretty minimal. But it has been fun to help learn a little and just about everyone we talk to speaks Spanish so he'll pick it up quick! And the gift of tongues is absolutely real!

We had another busy week of lessons and it's always fun to be busy!

The highlight of the week as far as the work was with Luis, formerly known to us as León haha, and his wife Carmen!! We weren't able to have a lesson last week with them but the one before that was super solid. So I was praying this week would be good and it was incredible!! We taught the plan of Salvation on Saturday to them and they just asked the perfect questions and understood it so well. And it was so powerful to be able to testify of our Savior Jesus Christ and His Atonement, which of course is central to the Plan and everything in this life. Then at the end of the lesson our Ward Mission Leader invited them to church! They said they really wanted to but had to work in the morning, so we offered to do a church tour and they were all for it! So we met them for the first time in person which in itself was so fun. And then things got exciting as our Ward Mission Leader just went off, showing them every nook and cranny of our chapel (pics below bc it's sick) and explained just about everything you can think of. The sacrament, baptism, preisthood auxiliaries, temples, tithing, and fasting to name a few. The whole thing took over an hour and a half haha I was a little worried they were going to be pretty overwhelmed but they loved it all, it was such a miracle!! They are some crazy awesome people.

That was a crazy long story so I'll just leave you all with a spiritual thought! I read 2 Nefi 28:30 in my personal study and really loved it. It says "For behold, thus saith the Lord God: I will give unto the children of men line upon line, precept upon precept, here a little and there a little; and blessed are those who hearken unto my precepts, and lend an ear unto my counsel, for they shall learn wisdom; for unto him that receiveth I will give more." I'm always trying to recognize the Spirit and get revelation, for myself and especially the people we are teaching. I have seen and know this principle is true! It's often through our diligence and work over time that we learn and receive direction. The Lord is always there and will guide us step by step as we excercise faith in diligence!

I love being a missionary!!! And I love you all so much!! Hope you all have a great week!!

Mucho amor,

Elder Jackson
