First Week!!
September 2, 2020
Hola a familia y amigos!!!
I officially have one week down in the MTC! So crazy I fly out to Albuquerque in less than two weeks, on September 15th. The home MTC has been busier than I originally thought it would be but I am loving being a missionary!! There has already been so many blessings, the spirit is still strong through Zoom!
Thanks to the all time great, Señora Swartz, I’m in a district with all native Spanish speakers. It's all Spanish all the time!! It was a little intimidating at first, I was pretty nervous, but it has been awesome! It has really pushed me but I’ve really felt the Lord magnify my efforts to progress with my Spanish. I feel I’m learning faster than ever.
I know everyone says this but my district seriously is the best!! And my teachers are honestly some of the nicest people I’ve ever met. Most of the people in my district are from Mexico. Although my companion was supposed to be from Nicaragua but he had trouble with technology so he wasn’t able to join us. Instead, I’m in a trio and they’re awesome dudes! The amount of love I’ve felt for my companions who I’ve never even met in real life is crazy!
It is such a privilege to be a missionary and to be a full time representative of Jesus Christ. We had a devotional yesterday from Elder Teixeira of the Seventy and he said “In no other time have we been as blessed with the opportunity to serve others and bring them a message of hope and peace.” I know this is true! The opportunities through technology have only expanded the work. I’m grateful for every day I get to be a missionary and testify of the love that the Savior has for each and everyone of us.
I’m so grateful for all of you and for the outpour of love and support I’ve received as I start this journey!
Con mucho amor,
Elder Jackson
